Expanding Foam Tape Delivered Next Day | BBA Approved

Before expansion takes place, the tape is the thickness of the lowest number of it's weather sealing range. i.e. a roll of 4-9mm EXP 6 will start at 4mm in thickness.

In most cases it will take 1 hour to fully expand, however expansion rates are dependent on the temperature of the tape and the temperature of the environment in which it is being installed. The speed of expansion increases in warmer environments. Should you wish to slow the speed of expansion you can do so by keeping the tape cool in a refrigerator prior to installing. On very cold days it can take up to 24 hours to expand fully. Do not remove the tape from the roll until you are ready to install, as it will start to expand as soon as the compression is removed. Never store the tape in sunlight or hot environments, this can initiate self expansion.

The width of the tape is measured in mm and is the first number you see. e.g. 20mm / 5-12 is 20mm wide.

There is adhesive on one side only, this is to be bonded to the flatest surface available. The expansion pressure will hold the tape in place.

As a minimum, the tape width should be kept square to the maximum height of the gap you are filling. i.e. If you are filling a 25mm gap using 18-34 EXP6 you would need 25mm / 18-34. You can choose to use a wider width also. We would not reccomend you use the tape at 20mm wide as this can cause instability once expanded.

EXP 6 is not suitable to use in the openings of windows and doors. It is designed to be permanently compressed. If you used it in a door / window opening it will expand once the door / window is open and will prevent you from being able to close the door / window as it wil have expanded. EXP 6 is designed to be used as a perimiter weather seal around windows and doors. For this application we would reccomend the use of a single sided foam tape.

Meters per roll cannot be changed as the tape will start to expand once removed from the roll.
